Rants That Probably Aren't That Important, but Maybe They Should Be???

God has been working on my unnecessary ranting for quite some time--especially on things that aren't that important in the grand scheme of things. I often find myself pulling back from a "comments section" like a dog having to resist biting into a piece of scrap pizza that fell onto the floor. I don't use my social media as a sounding board like I used to. One, because I've become more aware that my opinions aren't that interesting to the masses. Also, I save myself a lot of silly stress and conflict with people I don't know or just barely know by avoiding unfruitful online debates.

With that said....can I just offer a few thoughts that are bubbling around in my head?

Since my podcasting ventures are currently on hiatus, blogging will just have to do for now.

Writing is just a way for me to vocalize my wild thoughts, imagination, and opinions. I'm not going to expound much. I'm just going to release these thoughts into the wild. Feel free to do with them whatever you like. Treat this as a garage sale of the mind, clearing out all the mental junk and reducing the clutter.

The Mariah Carey Christmas song is quite possibly the worst song in the history of music. It does not bring me Christmas cheer. It makes me want to actively get stuck in Clarksville traffic on Fort Campbell Blvd at 5 pm on a weekday.

6-7 has gotten old. Seriously, not funny anymore.

Why are stores forcing us to think ahead to other holidays by putting merchandise out way too early? I don't need to see Valentine's day stuff out the first week of December. I don't need to see Christmas decorations out the third week of September. I don't need fourth of July stuff out in March. Let me enjoy the season that I'm in.

McDonald's fries are not even in my top 20 of fast food fries--way overrated.

Been saying this since I was 6 years old....earrings on dudes...no.

White elephant gag Christmas gift exchanges are way more fun than actually getting real presents on Christmas. I don't need anything. If anything, I want to give more to people who actually need.

I don't need another Avatar movie.

Why do Clarksville drivers either drive like they're late getting a pregnant woman in labor to the hospital or like they've never driven on a real paved road before? There's no in-between.

By the way...the middle lane is for turning left, not merging. And, get off your phone while driving.

Don't even get me started on people that argue zipper merging and backing into a parking space are correct and superior.

College football has sadly become a clown show. A committee makes inconsistent decisions and refuses to just admit that they're having to lie in the bed that's been made by a bad system. Conference Championship games have no stakes and mean nothing. Its become scripted like professional wrestling. Teams and players have literally become the kid that "takes their ball and goes home". Selfishness rules the sport. NIL and the portal are partly to blame, but let's just be honest--our society celebrates success over commitment. I think that's what's most ugly. Coaches and players aren't committed. Coaches with zero character leave the kids they recruit high and dry for a bigger job and paycheck. Yet, fans will quickly forget because they want to consume their sports and enjoy success. Character, commitment, integrity, and fairness don't matter in college football. To me, it's almost become completely unwatchable---just like professional wrestling.

Can we pick political candidates in this country that aren't insane? Stop celebrating a Republican or Democrat winning just because its "your party". We have some jacked-up leadership in this country because we refuse to look past the political-party jersey and actually vote values and with our brains. We think its all a part of some bigger strategy of keeping the systems, values, and structures we don't want out of office, instead of actually trying to put people with CHARACTER in office. Again, character doesn't matter in this country. Why should I be surprised that most are fine with college football?

It's those darn Pop-Tarts. I must admit, a BYU-Notre Dame Pop Tarts Bowl would have sucked me in. Catholics and Mormons filling a stadium, praying heartily for their side, while a giant Pop Tart does the griddy and rips off it's foil packaging like its undressing--that's professional wrestling...umm errr...college football...that I can get behind.

The Thanksgiving season is important, but often gets hijacked. Gratitude is better than trying to keep up with everyone else (i.e. presents, decorations, cute Christmas cards with a family photo taken next to a barn while everyone is wearing flannel and your labradoodle has a Christmas hat on...)

Okay, okay...that's enough for now. I truthfully made a resolution with God a few years ago to not be "a hater" and avoid complaining and ranting about trivial things. My family gets to hear it, but that's usually about it. There's no sense in arguing. There's no sense in stirring up. You may even say, "well then why post it?" Good question. I guess this is just me getting it out of my system and having a little bit of fun. I love humor. I'm grateful God gave it to us.

In all seriousness, these things aren't that important.....well, maybe with the exception of driving. Pay attention please.
