Love is Available to All (Magnificent Monday)

Happy Monday, everyone!!

This is a week in which many people specifically think about the concept of love.  Valentine's Day is the cultural reminder, and while many enjoy getting flowers, writing sweet notes, or gifting delicious candy, this can also be a holiday that reminds people of the love they feel they don't have.

January can typically be a challenging month for many people.  The post-Christmas blues are legit.  Sandwiched in between Christmas and Valentine's can be a bland time of year for those that look to "events" and "stuff" for joy.

There's no mistake that depression and apathy can rear their ugly head, especially when love seems to be out of grasp.  That is one of the reasons I wrote The Chaser as a "love story" in the midst of depressing circumstances.

BUT THIS POST IS SUPPOSED TO UPLIFTING---RIGHT?  WHERE IS THE LOVE THAT IS AVAILABLE TO ALL?

That's what I want to encourage you with.  First of all, I love you.  Now, that may be easy for me to say over a computer or cell phone screen, but I can honestly say that I do.  God gives me a love for people that isn't of my own flesh or strength.  I love you, and care about you.

More than that--GOD LOVES YOU!

1 John 4:7-12 says this,

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.  In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.  In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us."

The love of Christ is available to all.  Now, you may not get too excited hearing that a God you cannot see or touch loves you.  But, I'd say to you, "that's because you haven't experienced it yet".  God's love is real.  Just because you cannot see or touch doesn't mean you can't feel.  Like the wind, we can't see or touch it, but we feel it and see it's effect.

Find love in God today!  And have yourself a fantastic week!!
